No Buy February

I chose February for obvious reasons! Only 28 days on no buying.

Starting today 2/2/14 no to buying makeup! I need to use up what I have. Of course I can't use up all of my makeup in 1 month but no to buying any new! I have so many lipsticks and glosses that I have to use up some that I have and need to go through my 'stash' and downsize.

I plan to snap some pictures of before and after pics of my stuff I have and what I've used up. I need to do this every month. Downsizing is good, organizing is better.

Project Life

Since I have like 2 followers, I feel as if I can write anything and no one would be offended. Anywhooo, I started Project Life January 1, 2013 (that's the start of the year, so I figured that was as good as a place to start as any) So, sometime this week I will download my page spreads.

I love reading blogs! But, I for one do not wake up with perfectly applied make-up and hair styled to the hilt just to take the kids to school. My hair is a complete and utter mess, I drag myself out of bed to the car, while in my pj's to take the girls to school. I'm sure I have scared a few small children along the way.

I look at the pictures of the homes and think, what am I doing wrong, how can she have 5 kids and her home is spotless even the kitchen is perfect. My home isn't perfect and if it was, you can guarantee there are no children younger than 18 in the house.

Crafty? I try. But I will never have this conversation Oprah-"Oh, I love your jewelry and your outfit, where did you get them? Me---These ole things, I made them."

Had a great weekend, Rick and I were child-less from Saturday to Sunday. We discovered out new favorite Italian restaurant, Sutton's. So yummy.

Sorry the picture is so blah. I paired a black boatneck sweater with a denim shirt. The sweater has 3/4 so I was able to roll up the sleeves of the denim shirt. Love that look, and the cute little buttons on the sleeve of the sweater, the same buttons are on the back of the neck. Pair of jeans and tall boots and I was ready to go. I wore a bold silver bracelet to add a splash of color. Old Navy outfit, except boots.

I guess I should give you a little background about the weight gain. About 6 years ago I weighed 140 and was a size 8, that was perfect for me. Then all of the sudden my legs started getting bigger, then I just exploded. My thyroid had stopped working, none of my blood tests came back showing the "right numbers" so this went on for 4 years without any medication for my Thyroid. Finally, about 1 year ago the numbers came back and the # was staggering, the Dr was shocked. I've been on medication  for almost 2 years and the weight hasn't left. So, now i've decided to take action into my own hands and diet and go to the gym.

I admit, I was being lazy for the last 2 years hoping the weight would magically disappear. The Dr's still don't know why the weight hasn't left. Was told that YES, I should have lost a lot of weight.

Gonna change the page up a little bit....Actually, I'm going to use this page as my weight loss diary.

I'm sure I will want to give up and throw in the towel, but I figure if I documenting the journey, I don't want to fail.

So here goes....

Day 1: I've lost 8 lbs from the heaviest I've ever been in my life

That's me and Kaira Rouda, one of my all-time favorite authors, at a book signing in Cincinnati OH, a few weeks ago.

That's me and Joss Stone, one of my all-time favorite singers, after her concert in Chicago, IL. This concert is the best concert (so far) that i've seen in my live. And to actually get to meet her, get and autograph, and have my picture taken with her was the icing on the cake

Here's my stats 240 lbs in September 2012, 232 lbs. as of today. I wear a size 18 in pants and xxl in shirts. To type this is just....painful.
